Splash & Dash for The Sarah's Fund
A relay race to benefit The Children’s
Splash & Dash is a wonderful chance for families, schools and companies to support an important cause by entering teams in a variety of run-swim-run relay races.
On November 8, 2014, the day of the Splash & Dash, dozens of teams come to the McGill Sports Centre to run and swim for a good cause. Each team is made up of three people; the first person will run a pre-determined number of laps around the indoor track before tagging their team mate. The second person dives into the pool to complete the swimming portion. After finishing their laps, the swimmer will tag the third person, who will then head back to the track to run the last leg of the race.
Before and after the race, there is plenty to do… A DJ will get you grooving while children and adolescents of all ages will enjoy the inflatable games, basketball, yoga for kids, face-painting, and much more. Games, activities and health food are all offered for teams and spectators in the inner track at the Family Fun Expo.
Splash & Dash raises money for Sarah’s Fund, founded in 2001 by a then 8-year old girl undergoing treatment for Ewing’s Sarcoma. Since its inception Sarah’s Fund has raised over $5 million to support the needs of the Hematology-Oncology division at The Montreal Children’s Hospital.
This year our goal is to raise $200,000 for vital programs and services improving the lives of young cancer patients and their families on Sarah’s Floor, the inpatient oncology ward at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
