Since its inception in 2000, The ABC Ball for The Children’s has grown to become one of The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation’s most highly anticipated events. With an artfully prepared menu, a list of fine wines and a matchless entertainment lineup, The ABC Ball is widely recognized as one our city’s most elegant gala fundraisers. But it is also much more than that.
The ABC Ball gives us the opportunity to recognize ten outstanding individuals with an Award of Excellence in appreciation of their incredible devotion and perseverance, which make such a difference for our young patients.
The next edition of The ABC Ball will be in the spring of 2011, and we invite you to be a part of this very special evening in support of the new Children’s on the Glen Campus.
With Premier Jean Charest and his wife, Michèle Dionne, as Patrons of Honour, The ABC Ball for The Children’s was a resounding success!
Held at Windsor Station on May 27, the 2010 edition of The ABC Ball for The Children’s was an unforgettable night. With Québec Premier Jean Charest and his wife, Michèle Dionne, as Patrons of Honour, the event brought together more than 500 guests, and raised an incredible $765,000 for the construction of the new Children’s on the Glen Campus.
In keeping with our annual tradition, the Awards of Excellence Ceremony, made possible thanks to the generosity of ten corporate sponsors, highlighted the accomplishments of ten outstanding individuals who have helped make The Children’s an extraordinary hospital. This portion of the evening was hosted by Marianna Simeone, of CBC News Montreal, and actor Rémy Girard, while the remainder of the evening was hosted by actress Chantal Lamarre and entertainment reporter Mosé Persico.
Rio Tinto Alcan, one of the ten Awards of Excellence sponsors, took advantage of the event to announce a generous donation of $2.5 million to The Best Care for Children Campaign for the new Children’s. The excitement in the room was palpable, and we are very grateful for this incredible generosity!
A huge thank-you to our Patrons of Honour, and to our incredible organizing committee, co-chaired by Arlene Bratz-Abramowicz and Diana Stefanutti, for carrying off a beautiful evening for a worthy cause.
