Thanks to the generosity of our donors, The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation creates hope for sick children by providing access to cutting edge equipment, ensuring that the care kids receive at The Children’s is second to none. On November 8, 2012, Louise and Nelson De Sousa accepted a $40,000 donation from Honda towards the Pink Angel Fund, established in memory of their daughter Anastasia De Sousa. They are seen in this photo (second and third from right) with Jacques Pelletier and Pierre Bélair, both from Honda Laval, and Maxime Caron and Pierre Langevin, both from Honda Canada. A single-patient room in the new Children’s will bear the name of the Pink Angel Fund.
Hundreds of people have put on their brightest smiles to take part in the Souriez Don Holiday photo event, organized by Place Alexis Nihon. Since 2009, the event has raised more than $130,000 for The Children’s young patients. We are very grateful to our friends at Place Alexis Nihon for organizing this fabulous Holiday initiative!
La Maison Sami T.A. Fruits Inc. donated $30,000 to renovate the waiting room for the Hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
This generous gift allowed the purchase of nine sleeper chairs for parents and family members, as well as the renovation of the kitchenette, a new computer area, new cupboards, curtains, flooring, a fresh coat of paint and the purchase of several accessories such as a clock.
The family room is an area which allows parents and family members of young patients to regroup and stay close to their child in very stressful times. It helps reduce feelings of disorientation and …
The Ray Monahan group of car dealerships (Boulevard Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, Saint-Laurent Hyundai EQUUS and Montmorency Ford Lincoln) made a $45,000 donation to the Foundation on June 27, at the new Fiat Studio on Côte-de-Liesse.
The donation represents a percentage of proceeds from car sales and oil changes over the past year, and brings the total amount donated by the Ray Monahan Group to $50,000.

For the families of young patients living in distant or remote regions of Quebec, the challenge of caring for a sick child can be even greater. The time and money needed to travel to see specialists are obstacles that can add to a family’s stress and, in some cases, limit the care they receive. Since 2004, The Children’s has made remarkable strides in providing care through real-time conferencing to patients who cannot always make the trip to the Hospital.
